Endnu en internetudbyder har lagt sig på ryggen med spredte ben og er blevet onduleret af Antipiratgruppen. Denne gang drejer det sig om TDC/Yousee, der har valgt at spærre for deres kunders adgang til thepiratebay.org. Men bare rolig, det tager ikke mange sekunder at få adgang til de gode sager igen. For mit vedkommende tog det 7 minutter at fikse TDC’s blokering af thepiratebay.org.

Det er usikkert om TDC’s blokering af thepiratebay.org er lovlig, men én ting er helt sikkert: DET ER 100% LOVLIGT FOR DIG AT BESØGE OG BENYTTE THEPIRATEBAY.ORG, men det er ikke tilladt at downloade materiale beskyttet af copyright. Det skriger til himlen at Østre Landsret ikke har nogle IT-sagkyndige til at behandle sager som denne. Det svarer til, at Københavns Kommune spærrer Åboulevarden af, fordi der nogle gange er billister der overtræder loven, f.eks. ved at køre for stærkt. Det hele stinker langt væk af, at musikbranchen har “smurt” dommerne…

Nuvel, tilbage til blokeringen…

Det eneste du skal gøre for at få adgang til thepiratebay.org igen, er som følger:

Klik på Start og derefter på Netværksforbindelser:

Højreklik på din internetforbindelse og vælg Egenskaber:

Klik en enkelt gang på Internetprotokol (TCP/IP) og klik derefter på Egenskaber:

Klik i cirklen ud for Brug følgende DNS-serveradresser og skriv følgende i de to kasser:

• Foretrukken DNS-server: 208.67.222.222
• Alternativ DNS-server: 208.67.220.220

Luk vinduet ved at klikke på OK, og luk også egenskaberne for din internetforbindelse ved at klikke på OK i det vindue.

Genstart din browser og besøg thepiratebay.org. Du skal evt. genindlæse siden, så TDC’s skræmmeside forsvinder. Det gør du ved at holde CTRL-tasten nede mens du trykker på F5-tasten. Virker det stadig ikke, så genstart din computer. Nu skulle du gerne kunne besøge thepiratebay.org igen:

My Aspire One came with a Huawei E180 3G modem preloaded with a connection/sms manager called “Mobile Manager”. When starting Mobile Manager, the software creates a dial-up connection in my “Network Connections” folder. The modem works great on Windows XP, however, whenever I unplug the 3G modem and connect to a LAN/WLAN, the “Dial-up connection” window keeps popping up every 30 seconds or so – and all my network traffic is halted until I click cancel and the window closes.

I found a solution for the problem. Simply find your internet options in your control panel (or run the command inetcpl.cpl), click the “Connections” tab and select “Never dial a connection”. Click OK and you’ll never see the connect window again.

Mobile Manager (my Huawei connection software) still connects to the internet after I changed this option, but other software may run into problems if you play around with these settings.

Fortunately I found a solution to the problem.

Service Pack 3 updates some Windows XP components controlling updates and installs, but for some reason that component never got activated on my PC. I found a way to activate the file at Microsoft TechNet. Simply put, all you have to do (if you’re running a 32-bit version of XP) is to disable automatic updates, activate the component and restart automatic updates. This is how to do it:

1. Start a command prompt by pressing and holding [Windows key] and press [R]. This will bring up the “Run…” dialogue. Type cmd and press [Enter]
2. In the command window, type: net stop wuauserv and press [Enter]. This stops the Windows Update service (we’ll restart in a few seconds – don’t worry).
3. Enable the Service Pack 3 update component by typing: regsvr32 %windir%system32wups2.dll and press [Enter]
4. Now it’s time to restart the Windows Update service. All you have to do is type: net start wuauserv and press [Enter]

That’s it – Windows Update should be working fine now and you should be able to install the Windows Live programs you want to.
